March 19th Art at The Library
Ink Drawings by Annelise Collins
Opening Friday, March 18 thru May 15th
The works of tattoo art in “The Collector” comprise a collection of ink drawings on wood board of various sizes and shapes. According to Collins, the drawings are influenced by the American traditional style of tattooing; because they are painstakingly stippled, the process becomes introspective and meditative. The imagery comes from her own stream of consciousness and is heavily influenced by her personal practice of collecting tattoos from different places and people wherever she goes.
