TRANSPORTATION
FISH in Cornwall is a group of volunteers who provide rides
to anyone living in Cornwall
needing transportation to medical
appointments, shopping, etc.
Volunteers drive their own cars and there is no charge.
Call a few days ahead to: Joan Edler, 672-6789.
New volunteers are always welcome and needed!

all sorts of medical equipment -
beds, commodes, walkers, canes,
crutches, etc.

provides health insurance for uninsured and underinsured.

WOMEN'S SUPPORT SERVICES
Confidential help, particularly for victims of domestic violence, but
also for women with other
difficult issues. For example, a program
which provides secondhand cars for those in need.

HOUSATONIC YOUTH SERVICE BUREAU
Free, confidential counseling and crisis intervention for children and
families,
parenting resource library and newsletter programs for parents,
children and teens,
nationally recognized speqakers, workshops and community awareness
campaigns.
Located in the Pupil Service Center next to Housatonic Valley Regional
High School.

NORTHWEST CORNER CHORE SERVICE (NCCS)
helps people with housekeeping, errands, gardening, snow shoveling, odd
jobs - any job
that's legal, safe, and mutually agreed upon. Although
its target population is older and
disabled people, anyone can use the
service. Clients are asked for a contribution on a
sliding scale.
Regardless of the amount of client contribution, workers are paid
$11.50
an hour and 30 cents a mile (travel time to and from job as well
as for errands).

RURAL TRANSIT DIAL-A-RIDE Northwestern CT Transit District
Door to door service for people of all ages for Cornwall and Goshen,
Thursday and Friday

Friday - shopping in Torrington Reservations: Geer

Elderly ride free on a donation basis
Inter-regional Service on Tuesday and Thursday
to out of area towns for medical and other purposes on a first-come
first-served basis. Call NWCTD at 489-2535 Fare varies depending on
destination. Disabled ride for half fare. Elderly ride free on donation
basis.
