CETF Meeting Minutes

September 7, 2010, 6:00 PM @ 10 Pine Street

In attendance: Deb Bennett, Katie Freygang

Announcements:

The EPA celebration will be scheduled for the end of October. It will include a panel to discuss the work of the EPA and the incentive programs of the Clean Energy Fund and perhaps eco-related entertainment.

The Ag Fair, September 11 will have a booth from the CETF that will highlight the Clean Energy Option program, the Home Energy Solutions program, and solicit interest in a 350.org program for October 10 and a community gardening program for next spring. Fred Sander, a Cornwall resident, has taken a particular interest in 350.org and will spearhead preparations for this event.

The Conservation Quest Exhibition that was shared by the libraries in Washington and Cornwall in July was very popular and warranted some extra press and library attendance during the summer.

Fred Sander wants to join our group and to ally with Bill McKibben, 350.org. He wants to attend meetings but is only available on weekends.

Upcoming Projects:

Clean Energy Campaign:
This campaign has been postponed until after the fall events.

Home Energy Solutions Promotion:

This is a great program we will be promoting, starting at the Ag Fair, September 11. There are two subcontractors, Peter Donnelly and Jonathan Gorham, who would like to assist in the promotion of this program and we are considering them.

Alliance Audit Story:
Debbie has a draft of a story about our experience with Alliance to audit the town buildings and update lighting. She has also been collecting data for a progress report to present to the selectmen and to contribute to Joe’s data management project.

Town Statement of our usage:

Joe has submitted an initial template and Deb has submitted data from the last few years that reflects savings due to the lighting overhaul and PV installation at CCS. We expect a clear picture of our progress in the upcoming months.

Upcoming Programs:

Katie is planning a program with Keep Connecticut Cool. Ruth is looking into green compliance for the recently funded low-income housing project.

Next Meeting Date is October 5 at 6 pm at 10 Pine Street in Cornwall.
