CETF Meeting Minutes
June 29, 2010, 6:00 PM @ 10 Pine Street
In attendance: Joe Fuller, Deb Bennett, Katie Freygang
Announcements:
EPA designation and publicity. We were honored by the Green Partnership Program of the EPA for achieving such a high proportion of clean energy in the percentage of homes signed up for the Clean Energy Option. This allows us access to webinars and professionals across the country who can help with municipal issues. A celebration will follow that will include a panel to discuss the work of the EPA and the incentive programs of the Clean Energy Fund and perhaps eco-related entertainment.
Upcoming Projects:
Clean Energy Campaign:
Katie brought a draft of a campaign letter that
will be used for a spring campaign for the Clean Energy Option that Gordon
approved. People would like to see a fresh face on the letter so we are looking
for another writer.
Home Energy Solutions Promotion. This is a great program we should be promoting in our town. Next opportunity is at the Ag Fair, September 11.
Alliance Audit Story:
Debbie has a draft of a story about our
experience with Alliance to audit the town buildings and update lighting. We
will review this and submit.
Town Statement of our usage: Joe wants to create a database that includes consumption of oil and electricity and also posts carbon emissions including vehicle emissions. Katie will provide templates from the EPA and Cool Air Clean Cities (NH). Once the form and data are in place, we will find someone to analyze building efficiency and recommend conservation and long term upgrades. Here again, the EPA will provide guidance.
Upcoming Programs: Katie is planning a program with Keep Connecticut Cool and possibly a summer energy exhibit with the library. Debbie is bringing ideas for a community garden. Ruth is looking into green compliance for upcoming low-income housing projects.
3) No new business or publicity to report.
Next Meeting Date is September 7 at 6 pm at 10 Pine Street in Cornwall. The following meeting is October 5 at 6 pm at 10 Pine Street in Cornwall.
