CETF Minutes 1.11.10

Town Hall 9:30am

In attendance: Anne Scott, Katie Freygang, Debbie Bennett, Nick Xatzis

1. CCS Solar Panel Installation Report:

We are done with the PV2 installation. Although we are producing energy, the Fat Spaniel is having trouble getting hooked into the national monitoring system so that kids still can see our progress. Of the three inspections all but one with CCEF has signed off and they may forego, relying on the previous two, due to new budgets.

We had a school program December 19 featuring Richard Dziadul, the chief installer to explain the system to the kids. It was an open discussion and also included, Sue Gingert who provided data on current usage, Katherine Freygang who discussed the overall process, and Robert Vaughn and Kathy West who helped with explanations for the kids including a demonstration using the kids to show electron behavior. Special thanks also go to Anne Scott and Gordon Ridgway for providing ongoing support and the diligence required to get the job done. This was covered in the Republican-American. We are still due a celebration outdoors, geared for adults and will include the Clean Energy Fund representatives.

2. ARRA Grants:

Katie reported that the Regional Bonus Pool proposal for a Regional Energy Alliance for NWCT Energy Task Forces was submitted Jan 8 although the final governing entity will be assigned to Kent as the Lead Town with eight towns participation excluding Cornwall at this time. Results for the Municipal Grant, the solar panel for the town offices, submitted last month should be coming the end of January. Results for the Bonus Pool grant will be the end of March.

3. Winter Programs:

We still have three possible winter programs but none have been secured:
