Cornwall Energy Task Force

Minutes December 6 and 16, 2008

November minutes: Approved

Attendees: Dec 6- Mac Horner, Katherine Freygang, Nick Xatzis
Attendees: Dec 16- Katherine Freygang, Anne Scott, Gordon Ridgway

This meeting was in two parts. The first to introduce members to the issues we are currently facing. The second discussed the hurtle of attaining verification of our sign on number with the Clean Energy Fund. A separate report was filed by Debbie Bennett regarding the lighting renovation at CCS that will take place December17.

Old Business:

· CCS Lighting Audit -.
Dec 17 as per Debbie Bennett’s report. Nick contributed that we are 3 month away from having full LED tracks available on the market.

· Sign Ons to CL&P for 30%-
Katie spoke with Norfolk’s Chairperson regarding the delayed schedule for installation with CTInnovations. She encouraged us with the fact that it took Norfolk a year and a half once they had attained their sign-on numbers to finish their installation. She called the celebration “anti-climatic”.

Meanwhile we are working closely with Sterling Planet to attain accurate figures but have had less cooperation with Community Energy. As of Dec 12, Sterling Planet confirms that we have 130 signed up with 5 outstanding. We have no confirmed numbers from Community and as of Dec 16, the Clean Energy Fund reports 164.5 or 25.8% of households. Recently, Joyce uncovered some early coupons of sign-ons with Community Energy that she had copied. Anne Scott will add this to our master list.
Our current next steps on this issue are:
1. To continue to sign people on
2. To keep Andrew Roraback and Roberta Willis abreast of this situation
3. To keep CT Innovations and Bob Wall informed, requesting updates
4. Keep immaculate records

· Update on CCS Installation-
This has been put on hold until we have secure numbers for the size of our unit- 7 or 8 kW?

· Commercial Energy Use and Mohawk Wind Project-
No news on this project. Mac will be in touch with Henry LaBalme and Gordon.

· Publicity-
Waterbury Republican published a column on Clean Energy on November 17 were Cornwall was cited. On November 15 Katie presented a talk : Energy Leadership on Your Town” for the Litchfield Conservation Commission and the Northwest Conservation District. In attendance were town leaders from Litchfield County.

· New Business: Winter Programs (V3 Program and Reducing E Usage.)
Nick, Katie and Anne are still working on this. Kent has been forming a task force and would like to join our effort of informing people about how to use Kilowatt Meters and how to create a base footprint.

On Hold: Loans for Small Businesses, NW Corner Update, Transportation Update

Next Meeting: January 2009 , to be announced.
