MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE
CORNWALL BOARD OF SELECTMEN

7:30 p.m. - Town Hall

PRESENT: First Selectman Ridgway, Selectman K.C. Baird, Selectman Bramley, James Vanicky, Allyn Hurlburt III

First Selectman Ridgway called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.

Mr. Vanicky, and Mr. Hurlburt upon his arrival, were invited into executive session. First Selectman Ridgway made the motion to go into executive session to interview candidate for interim highway foreman and candidate for temporary highway personnel. Selectman Baird seconded. Motion passed unanimously.

The Board came out of executive session at 8:37.

First Selectman Ridgway made the motion, Selectman Baird seconded, to hire James Vanicky as temporary crew chief of the Cornwall highway department under the following conditions:

- temporary assignment until new foreman is hired, probably within next one or two months
- has the authority to supervise crew per job description received
- will regain previous job if not chosen as foreman
- pay to be current plus $100 per week for this assignment as bonus
- all other benefits will remain in place
- First Selectman Ridgway will check with the Union

Motion passed unanimously.

First Selectman Ridgway made the motion, Selectman Baird seconded, to hire Allyn Hurlburt III on a regular basis until the position of highway foreman is filled. Motion passed unanimously.

Meeting adjourned at 8:45 p.m.
