MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE
CORNWALL BOARD OF SELECTMEN

PRESENT: First Selectman Gordon Ridgway, Selectman Richard Bramley, Selectman K.C. Baird
First Selectman Ridgway called the meeting to order at 9:05 a.m.
LETTER TO SITING COUNCIL: The Board reviewed and discussed a letter First Selectman Ridgway drafted to the Connecticut Siting Council in reply to Mr. Phelps letter of May 6, 2010 concerning Docket Number 402, a telecommunications facility at 16 Bell Road Extension in Cornwall. The letter lists the Board’s concerns and request intervener status for the Board. Selectman Bramley made the motion to approve a draft letter outlining concerns about the project, pending input from Mr. Nevton Dunn and Inland Wetlands Commission. Selectman Baird seconded. Motion passed unanimously.
PARK AND RECREATION DIRECTOR APPOINTMENT: First Selectman Ridgway informed the Board that interviews had been completed by the Park and Recreation Commission for a new Director and the Commission recommends Becky Hurlburt for the position of Director. The Board discussed this.
Selectman Baird made the motion to hire Becky Hurlburt as Park and Recreation Director upon the recommendation of the Park and Recreation Commission. First Selectman Ridgway seconded. Motion passed unanimously.
