MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE
CORNWALL BOARD OF SELECTMEN

8:30 a.m. - Town Hall

PRESENT: First Selectman Ridgway, Selectman Baird, Selectman Bramley, Roger Kane, Highway Foreman Jim Vanicky

First Selectman Ridgway called the meeting to order at 8:40 a.m.

BUDGET: The Board discussed the Great Hollow/Great Hill Road project with Mr. Kane. Mr. Kane presented cost estimates for the two parts of the project. The Board discussed what up-front money is required, what is reimbursed, what money is available in the budget.

The Board discussed the requested salary increase for town employees in the budget. Selectman Baird made the motion to present the budget as printed to Town Meeting with the understanding the Board will revisit the issue of salary increase for Town employees upon the completion of negotiations with the highway union with an increase limit of 2%. First Selectman Ridgway seconded. Motion passed: Selectman Baird and Selectman Bramley aye, First Selectman Ridgway abstained.

TOWN MEETING CALL: The Board reviewed the town meeting call. First Selectman Ridgway made the motion to change the town meeting call to reflect the new figures obtained from Mr. Kane for the ARRA Grant for the Great Hill Road project. Selectman Baird seconded. Motion passed unanimously.

The Board signed the Town Meeting call.

EXECUTIVE SESSION: First Selectman Ridgway made the motion to go into executive session to discuss strategy and negotiations with respect to pending Freedom of Information claim, and to invite Highway Foreman Jim Vanicky to join them. Selectman Bramley seconded. Motion passed unanimously.

The Board went into executive session at 9:30 a.m. to the offices of Cramer and Anderson, 46 West Street in Litchfield, CT 06759.

The Board came out of executive session at 1:50 p.m.

No action taken. Meeting adjourned at 1:50 p.m.
