Minutes of the Regular Meeting of July 20, 2010

Present: Gordon Ridgway, first selectman; K.C. Baird and Richard Bramley, selectmen; Members of the CT Siting Council, its staff attorneys and engineers; members of the public.

This meeting was a public hearing on the matter of the proposed cell phone tower on Bell Road extension. There were sessions at 3 p.m. and at 7:30 p.m.

From 3:00 to 5:30 p.m. the Siting Council met with the Board of Selectmen. Views were exchanged. Letters from the Cornwall Planning and Zoning Commission and the NW CT Conservation District were read. Earlier in the afternoon a balloon had been raised at the site to the elevation of the proposed tower. According to the selectmen, the balloon was visible from Cornwall Village. First Selectman Ridgway spoke with the Siting Council.

At 7:30 p.m. the meeting reconvened to hear four speakers address issues involving siting the cell tower. At approximately 8:20, neighbors with intervener status before the council gave their views. First Selectman Ridgway was not present. Selectmen Bramley and Baird were present.

The meeting adjourned at 9:15 p.m.
