MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE

CORNWALL BOARD OF SELECTMEN

Tuesday, January 18, 2005

7:30 p.m. - Town Hall

PRESENT: First Selectman Gordon Ridgway, Selectman K.C. Baird, one reporter

First Selectman Ridgway called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES: First Selectman Ridgway made the motion to approve the minutes of December 23 as presented. Selectman Baird seconded. Passed unanimously.

ADDITIONS TO THE AGENDA: None

COMMUNICATIONS: First Selectman Ridgway presented and the board reviewed a letter from a citizen requesting the transfer station have one day it is opened at 8:30 a.m. The Board reviewed the hours of transfer station operations of neighboring towns.

First Selectman Ridgway communicated to the Board and for the benefit of the press, the need for citizens to be aware of their 911 numbers and ensure they are visible and not snow covered or camouflaged, having to look for 911 house numbers to respond to a house fire earlier in the day.

APPOINTMENTS: The Board discussed the appointment of Chris Hopkins to the Cornwall Grange Trust Advisory Committee. Members are allowed only two consecutive terms and Mr. Hopkins had served two. First Selectman Ridgway made the motion to appoint Priscilla Mauro for a two year term to the Cornwall Grange Trust Advisory Committee. Selectman Baird seconded. Passed unanimously.

BUDGET: The Board reviewed the budget and discussed meeting dates.

BILL PAYMENT: Bills were paid in the usual manner. The Board discussed bills from the CCS project, heating oil bills and Planning and Zoning bills.

Meeting adjourned at 8:00 p.m.
