MINUTES OF THE

SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CORNWALL BOARD OF SELECTMEN

 

Thursday, April 29, 2004

 

9:00 a.m. - Town Hall

 

PRESENT: First Selectman Gordon Ridgway, Selectman Ken Keskinen

 

First Selectman Ridgway called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m.

 

The Board reviewed a letter to be sent to Attorney General Blumenthal.  First Selectman Ridgway made the motion for the Board to sign and send the letter expressing the Town of CornwallÕs interest in joining the State of ConnecticutÕs Request For Reconsideration by the Interior Board of Indian Appeals of the Bureau of Indian Affairs final determination of acknowledgment of the Schaghticoke Tribal Nation to Attorney General Blumenthal. Selectman Keskinen seconded. They discussed the letter and its actions. Motion passed unanimously.

 

The Board reviewed a letter received from town attorney Mr. Grimes.

 

First Selectman Ridgway made the motion to authorize Mr. Grimes to send the letter to IBIA and the list of interested parties attached, a Request For Reconsideration supporting the Coggswell group and the State of Connecticut.  Selectman Keskinen seconded. Passed unanimously.

 

The Board adjourned to CCS for tour through the project construction. Selectman Baird joined them there.
