MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE

CORNWALL BOARD OF SELECTMEN


Monday, July 2, 2007


7:30 p.m. - Town Hall


PRESENT: First Selectman Gordon Ridgway, Selectman Richard Bramley


First Selectman Ridgway called the meeting to order at 7:35 p.m.


APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Selectman Bramley made the motion to approve the minutes of June 19 as presented. First Selectman Ridgway seconded. Motion passed unanimously.


ADDITIONS TO THE AGENDA: None


COMMUNICATIONS: First Selectman Ridgway communicated there will be a meeting concerning the River Road de Luca property on July 9 and a meeting with Chris Murphy and area selectmen on July 5.


WAGE AND SALARY SCHEDULE: The Board reviewed the Wage and Salary Schedule for Fiscal Year 2008. A typographical error was noted. First Selectman Ridgway made the motion to approve the Wage and Salary Schedule for Fiscal Year 2008 pending the revision of the Registrar Salary number. Selectman Bramley seconded. Motion passed unanimously.


WEST CORNWALL BUSINESSES: The Board discussed businesses in West Cornwall village. Plans are underway to do some sort of meeting in September with the merchants. The Farmer’s market in West Cornwall was a success this past Saturday and will be a regular Saturday event.


GREEN ENERGY: The Board discussed green energy and the 20% by 2010 Campaign. First Selectman Ridgway has spoken to interested citizens concerning a town Task Force. Other possible candidates to be a part of a Task Force were discussed. First Selectman Ridgway will speak to several citizens to ask if they would be interested in being a part of the Task Force.


UPDATES: The Selectmen discussed update progress on ongoing projects in town.


BILL PAYMENT: Bills were paid in the usual manner.
