MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE
CORNWALL BOARD OF SELECTMEN

PRESENT: First Selectman Gordon M. Ridgway, Selectman Kenneth C. Baird, Selectman Richard Bramley
BUDGET TRANSFERS: The Board reviewed and discussed seven budget transfers.
First Selectman Ridgway made the motion to approve the budget transfers of:
$986.21 to Hammond beach salaries 01-460-691-03 from Employee Health Insurance 01-406-575-44 due to the beach opening a week early in response to the onset of hot weather,
$335.44 to Hammond beach supplies 01-460-692-14 from Employee Health Insurance 01-406-575-44 due to residual expenses from repairs and maintenance last June 2007 that ended coming out of this fiscal year,
$332.79 to Hammond beach contracted services 01-460-692-16 from Employee Health Insurance 01-406-575-44 for the replacement of the well pump which entire cost was $972,
$3,190.82 to Social Security/Medicare 01-424-581-40 and Unemployment 01-424-581-42 from Employee Health Insurance 01-406-575-44 due to the under budget of the line and additional payroll expense as well as one Unemployment claim from Tara O’Neil, past land use administrator, and the additional payroll to lines Tax Collector, Highway Temporary Labor, Highway Overtime, and Hammond beach wages.
$970.89 to Tax Collector salary 01-413-525-02 from Employee Health Insurance 01-406-575-44 due to situation of retiring Tax Collector Helen Migliacci who had a paycheck held back one pay period when she started her position and was therefore due one additional paycheck,
$480.72 to Probate Court Contracted Services 01-416-539-16 from Employee Health Insurance 01-406-575-44 due to under budget of line and inability to correctly anticipate the cost of the new procedures with the regional probate court,
$6,729.02 to Highway supply 01-425-600-14 from Employee Pension Plan 01-406-575-45 due to sharp price increases on all supplies resulting from increased costs to petroleum based product s and delivery.
Selectman Baird seconded. Motion passed unanimously.
VOTING MACHINE DISPOSAL: The Board discussed the disposal of the old voting machines.
