MINUTES OF THE CORNWALL BOARD OF EDUCATION SPECIAL MEETING
HELD ON JANUARY 29, 2009 AT 3:00 P.M. AT
CORNWALL CONSOLIDATED SCHOOL

Board members present were: Barbara Gold, Chairperson; Becky Hurlburt, Wynne Kavanagh, and Thomas K. Levine. Irene Hurlburt and Phil Hart were absent. Also present was Patricia Chamberlain, Superintendent of Schools.

Mrs. Gold called the meeting to order at 3:20 p.m.

On a motion by Mr. Levine, seconded by Mrs. Kavanagh, the Board went into executive session at 3:21 p.m. to discuss teacher negotiations. Superintendent Chamberlain was invited to attend.

The Board came out of executive session at 3:22 p.m.

The following motion was made by Mrs. Hurlburt and seconded by Mr. Levine: As directed by the Cornwall Board of Selectmen, the Cornwall Board of Education requests the Cornwall CEA to reopen negotiations for the third year of the
July 1, 2009 – June 30, 2012 certified employees’ contract to consider the issues of salary and health benefits.

The meeting was adjourned at 3:23 p.m.
