MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE

CORNWALL BOARD OF SELECTMEN

11:00 a.m. - Porch of Baird’s General Store

PRESENT: First Selectman Gordon Ridgway, Selectman K.C. Baird, Selectman Richard Bramley, Chris Hopkins


First Selectman Ridgway called the meeting to order at 11:00 a.m.


LORCH FARM PROPERTY: The Board met with the lessee Mr. Chris Hopkins of the Lorch Farm town property to discuss his application for a grant for partial reimbursement from the Environmental Quality Incentives Program of the Natural Resources Conservation Service to fund fencing and watering facilities for livestock on the property. The Board reviewed a map submitted by Mr. Hopkins.


Selectman Baird made the motion to write the letter requested by the Natural Resources Conservation Service stating that Mr. Hopkins has permission to install and maintain the fencing and watering facilities on town land and permission to farm this land for the life of the contract through September 30, 2013 with the consideration of keeping open and available hiking access. Selectman Bramley seconded. Motion passed unanimously.


FIRE TRUCK BID: First Selectman Ridgway reported he was in receipt of a recommendation from the CVFD Truck Committee who had reviewed the bids. The Committee recommended KME Fire Apparatus. The Board discussed this.


Selectman Bramley made the motion to accept the recommendation of the Cornwall Volunteer Fire Department Truck Committee to accept the bid of KME Fire Apparatus with the deduct of hoses and ladder. Selectman Baird seconded. The Board discussed pursuing alternate funds for the hoses and ladder. Motion passed unanimously.
