Energy Sign-Ons Update Solar Panel Installation Update- current
report: 156.5 households and 24%. Technically we need 196 for 30%. A
campaign will be organized Friday 10/17, at 10 am, at Katie’s
house. Kat West at Sterling Planet will help. (Anne made the
fabulous comment that a campaign won’t take off until it is a
“sport” meaning to add competition etc. How can we do
this?)
(Public Power and Utility is emerging but not quite in the
running for CT programs.)
Commercial Energy Use- Henry gave us a comprehensive description of his work with commercial installations and he has been in touch with Gordon. They will look at issues such ownership, management, funding, installation design, utility requirements, state incentives and state park obligations. The immediate tasks are to develop an initial concept with numbers and to review the already successful Jiminy Peak Model. A list of surrounding residences will be assembled for future use.
Agricultural Fair- Town Fuel-Oil Coop, Clean Energy Sign-up Sheets, KW Meter Sales, Fliers about Home Audits, Solar Powered gimmick, Music, Clothes line of Drawings, Marc Simont’s Poster. Next Year: Light bulb sales, Recycling display, Better Boom Box or Gimmick with good signage to explain, Uniform (hat or t-shirt).
Publicity- Katie and Gordon made a presentation at the Cornwall Association October 4. Katie and Bob Wall presented the Clean Energy program to Litchfield League of Women Voters Sept 11. Katie, Deb, Anne and James LaPorta had a booth at the Agricultural Fair on September 20.
