Art @ the Dump Final report 2005

The sixth annual Art @ the Dump was a resounding success. It was held in the sand shed on Route 4 on Saturday, April 23. Artists entered 130 pieces of which 64 were sold. The capsule vending machine netted $32.75. Sales and donations raised $2715.75. After some modest expenses and payments to the artists, $826.00 was donated to the art department of CCS.

A Peoples’ Choice vote awarded the following prizes:

#1 “Tall Lamp” by Richard Griggs
#2 “Wet Paint” by Barbara Stone
#3 “Spectator Sport” by Israel Fitch

The Philip Jones Memorial Award
“Guitar” by William Morehouse Jr.

As a reminder, the 7th annual Art @ the Dump will be April 22, 2006.
Many, many thanks to everyone who entered, bought art, helped me out in so many ways and those of you who just came to look in spite of the rain. It seems to be such a fun way to start the social season in Cornwall.

PS Over the last 5 years we have given $3903.25 to the art department of CCS. They have used the money for various projects including the tile mural they are making and installing in the school.
